Gondalars

If you are going to Venice and your worried that the iconic Gondalar with a singing Italian aboard may be just a legend and there not actully every where, well they are! and the singing Italians!

Down all of Venices streets there are river like roads with bridges. There are no cars in Venice everybody gets around by a boat.

I dont know what he was singing about but its such a great language!

Apparently it takes a gondalar driver 7 years to qualify! Due to the narrow river passages and difficulty in moving it. Takes just as long to be a pilot!

I ordered a taxi! What is this!

Venice

Welcome to Venice or in the language 'Venezia'. Probbly one of the most iconic cities in the world purely floating on water. We had to get there by boat and on are approach we saw Venices Panorama. Beautiful white buildings, historic churches and...advertising? What ruined venices landscape was big billboards advertising things like phones and televisions.

Couldn't waite to dock in the city, was deffenetly a place i've always wanted to see.

We arrived on the busy dock of Venice. There were lots of people it was insane and very hot. On are approach the boat driver told us to look out for pick pockets because there were suppose to be many of them. It felt safe enough though we did see two police pursuing one man.

Now looking down these buildings is what venice is all about, the houses narrow and sepperated by small rivers, with curved bridges curled over the water.

But where are all the...Theres one! The famous Venecian Gondalar. There were plenty of them scattered through Venice.

Are tour guide with the orange umbrella took us round the complicated streets and to all the main sites.

Italy 2011

ITALY 2011

Well after China last year i didn't think i would get another spectacular holiday this year but i was happy to book are next holiday to Italy! Never been to Italy but always wished to visit it as i love Italian food and the beautful scenery. We got the plane to Italy at the end of July and landed in Lake Garda where we were staying. Lake Garda was as beautiful as i imagined. flowers everywhere, orange, green, pink and yellow buildings and ovcourse a georgeous green and blue lake surrounded by mountains and bars on the peer.

You could really embrace Italian culture straight away, very narrow streets with stalls selling pasta, cloths, pottery. The architecture was kind of run down but it didn't seem scruffy more historical and vintage. There was lots of dogs as well, Italy loves its dogs!

The lake was stunning on the evening. Boats were lined up against the peer just bobbing on the lake.

The scenery surrounding Lake Garda was stunning and there was nothing better then sitting in a bar having some Italian food and a cocktail and looking out at this view. The weather was lovely, red hot through the day and cool on the night.

Was a good first day in Italy and already i felt i had embraced its culture, that night a thunderstorm rolled in. Was strange but a very exciting storm with flashes of orange thunder lighting up the sky.

Riding on the Loch

On are last day in Loch Lommand we took a boat ride across the Loch. Wasnt great weather very dark but again made some atmospheric pictures.

Unfriendly clouds. it rained a lot.

Best way to see the Loch is on a boat, see the whole panoramic of the landscape. Would be a nice place to retire too.

London bridge and the Guerkin building

Here is the Guerkin building though its actual name is St. Mary's axe. Looks more of a Guerkin than an axe so i see the reason behind its nick name.

Ive always wanted to see this building as when ever you see panning shots above the city of London on TV this is the building that always stands out. I dont know what they do in it but its a great piece of architecture and looks beautiful with the light shinning on it.

I love how the clouds reflect on the surface of its shell.

Is a great building and glad we saw it.

Another fantastic building we saw on a boat trip down the Thames. London likes its creative architecture.

Finally we saw London bridge and the tower of London. We didn't think the tower of London was that impressive but London bridge was as great as i imagined. sitting in the middle of the river Thames.

Was great to walk over it and watch the ships go under its draw bridge. After this we had seen most of the sites and are trip to London was complete. Was a great experience and gave me a passion for site seeing that i never knew i had.

Ibiza coast

Quite rough seas on one day off the holiday but made a nice gloomy photo. Wish we had a better camera back then but it was 2006.

Wouldnt it be great to own that and there!

Crabs love bread!

First time i ever saw a jelly fish, it made me not go in the sea for a couple of days.

Yachts

Nice Yacht view here. Would love to own one some day but would probbly never use it. These people must be rich though to live some where like this.
